The time has finally come…Vegas baby, VEGAS! In 2 days I will be heading to Las Vegas for the long awaited Affiliate Summit West. There are going to be so many things I want to try and do while attending the convention. I doubt I’ll be able to do them all, but I should be able to cross a good number of things off the list.
Yesterday my beautiful wife and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary. It’s hard to want to leave her for a several days, even though I have been looking forward to this for months and months. It’s hard to want to leave the kids too. I told my son that I was going to be out of town for a few days and he told me he was going to miss me. That earned him a nice surprise gift I’ll have to pick up while in Vegas.
So far I managed to get “on the list” for a few network parties and events. I’m excited to meet whoever I can. One of the first things I’ll be doing is joining Andrew Wee and a group he has gotten together to grab some dinner at RUB BBQ. Should be a great way to start off the trip.
After reading Smaxor’s article about making the most of the tradeshow floor, I feel more prepared to make the most of my time at the show. If you haven’t read it, I suggest you take a look.
The busiest day I have scheduled so far is Monday. I have made concrete plans to meet a few AM’s. It will be nice to be able to put a name to a face. Especially my Ads 4 Dough rep – Artur Lee. He’s been a great help in finding good offers to promote as well as making sure I know when offers are pausing or redirecting. That’s the type of personal attention you just don’t see very often. I really enjoyed working with Arthur and Ads 4 Dough in 2009 and look forward to growing with them in 2010 and beyond.
I’m sure the relationships I am able to build from ASW will definitely make any money and time spent away from my family well worth it!
