After trying (unsuccessfully) to jump rope on a regular basis I decided to give P90X a shot. There’s tons of support out there for P90X’ers as well as a lot of encouraging before and afters.
I’m not doing any of the supplements…I’m not even following the nutrition guide. I’ll watch what I eat and make better choices, but I know if I try to make too drastic of a change it will be really hard for me to stick to it. So I’m going to do it 1 phase at a time.
Today’s workout was Chest/Back followed by the Ab Ripper X routine. My head was hurting while I was working out but 15 or 20 minutes after the workout was done I felt pretty good. After taking a nice hot shower I feel even better!
Using your own body for resistance is different from what I am used to. I would typically hit the bench to work out my chest. Doing variations of push-ups instead will take some getting used to but I’m confident it will help build results quicker. I think it will also help me build a fuller chest, shoulders, and triceps. I gotta say, the dive bomb push-ups were the hardest! I wasn’t able to do many but that’s okay. I kept track using the worksheets so I’ll be able to track my progress as well as set a good target number of reps when starting each exercise. Having a number in your head you want to reach seems to be pretty key to getting the results you want.
Tomorrow will be Plyometrics. It is supposed to be pretty intense.
Til then…

Congrats on your decision to do P90X. It is a KILLER program. I have used it a few time. Don’t get crazy if you can’t do all they plymetrics tomorrow. It is tough the first couple of times. Who am I kidding, it’s still tough.
I am a Beachbody coach. If you get into the program and think you would like to make some extra money helping people like yourself, let me know. We have a strong team and are always looking for doers!

Hi Denalee, thanks for the encouragement!
Yeah, I’ve made it a point not to expect to keep up in the beginning.
