P90X – Day 2

Just finished my first P90X Plyometrics workout.  1 word – Burn!That is one intense workout.  I wasn’t even keeping up with the people working out on the video and I was still feeling the burn.  It definitely gets your heart going.

I bought a heart rate monitor a couple months ago from Woot.  I used it for the first time tonight.  The dumb thing doesn’t work!  It uses a chest strap and a watch.  The watch couldn’t get a reading from the chest strap.  Oh well.  Eventually I may try getting a heart rate monitor that is all build into the watch.

One thing I like about the way P90X is set up is that the workout coach (Tony Horton) is always showing alternative movies (he calls them variations) that you can do if you aren’t quite capable of doing some of the exercises they are doing.  Also he’s always reminding you that if you need to press pause, that’s okay.  I had done a fitness boot camp before and if you stopped to kinda catch your breath or oh, I don’t know…avoid passing out, the fitness instructor would get on your case.  It was his way of trying to encourage you but in actuality it was more embarrassing than anything.  None of that with P90X.

Well, with 2 days down and 88 to go I can honestly say I’m looking forward to seeing some results!
